I grew up near the Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse at the most south westerly point of Australia so I guess it makes sense that I have always had a bit of a fascination with lighthouses.
The Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse shines it’s light towards a point where the Indian and Southern Oceans intersect and as kids we used to try to distinguish the imaginary line that divided them.
This high mountain highway that passes through the heart of Montana and Wyoming’s wild west is often labelled as the “most beautiful drive in America”. Also known as the Beartooth All-American Road, the 68 miles of dangerous curves and switchbacks is wild, rugged and well…rather high: all of which promise fabulous views!
Crowded House’s ‘Don’t Dream its Over’ is blaring from the car stereo, windows are all rolled down as far as they can go, we have a good supply of chocolate and the salty Pacific air is making my eyes sting.
Yes, this already has the makings of the perfect Californian road trip.
